About AO Spine Knowledge Forum SCI

AO Spine Knowledge Forum Spinal Cord Injury (KF SCI):

The AO Spine Knowledge Forum Spinal Cord Injury (KF SCI) is a globally recognized, collaborative research network dedicated to addressing critical knowledge gaps in spinal cord injury (SCI). As part of AO Spine—one of the world’s largest academic spine societies in spine research—KF SCI brings together leading spine surgeons, clinician-scientists, and multidisciplinary experts to generate high-quality evidence and improve patient outcomes worldwide.

KF SCI focuses on solving key unresolved challenges in SCI by generating and translating knowledge worldwide to improve the care of patients with Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy (DCM) and Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).

Through its continued commitment to excellence, KF SCI advances evidence‑based, globally applicable solutions and fosters international collaboration to improve care and outcomes for patients with spinal cord injury worldwide.

The AO Spine Knowledge Forums (KFs) are the engines of AO Spine clinical research. They perform evidence-based research and develop AO Spine classifications, staging of the disease, treatment guidelines, and outcome measures.
The KFs meet regularly to discuss research, assess the best evidence for current practices, and formulate clinical studies to advance their field of spine expertise.
