The NDDB- National Dairy Development Board was founded by Dr. Verghese Kurien in 1965. The prime minister of India at that time, Lal Bahadur Shastri who supported and promoted white revolution from Charotar region at that time.

NDDB is statutory body with subsidiaries like IDMC, Mother Dairy and Indian Immunologicals Limited. Head office of body is situated in Anand city near Jagnath mahadev temple and Anand veterinary college. The motto of board is to uplift rural communities by promoting financing and supporting producer-owned and controlled organisations in field of Farming and Dairy development.
